GETTING HUNGRY?

Is it lunchtime yet?

What are YOU making for dinner tonight?

MULTICULTURAL COOL COOKING

YOU'RE THE CHEF SERIES

These books are just right for the inexperienced cook or someone who needs a quick meal idea.

These books will be checked out before your cake is done, so you might have to put your name on the back burner (the 4th and 5th graders really like to cook!)

LOOKING FOR BIOGRAPHIES?

Are you looking for a good BIOGRAPHY to support your research projects?
Look no further than these brand new books!

Titles include Stephen Hawking, Steve Jobs, and more!
I know you've always wanted to read about Typhoid Mary, right?

You can find the BIOGRAPHIES in the 921 DEWEY section of our library – you do remember the Dewey Decimal System, right? Just to refresh your memory, all of our nonfiction/informational books are categorized by subject and organized in numerical order. The BIOGRAPHIES are THEN organized by the subject’s last name like this example:

The "yet to be written, entertainingly uplifting biography" written "about little ole me" would be found in, you got it, the 921 section G (for Greene, right?)…and extra points for knowing that the call number is 921 GRE.

Just look for the colorful boxes with the ABC letters on them in the 921 section and you will find what you are looking for – unless it hasn’t been written yet, of course…

NEW LIBRARY BOOKS

THEY ARE FINALLY HERE!
NEW BOOKS IN THE LIBRARY!
What could be better than new books in the Media Center?
Well, TIME to READ them, of course!

Between snow days, teaching, planning, preparing sunshiny SLOs and the PTA book fair, we have been slowly unpacking and processing our new books.

NOW they are ready for you to check out!

Honestly, I would love to host an Open House to officially welcome these books, but I also know that time is precious and fleeting for everyone right now so INSTEAD I am posting    A NEW BOOK A DAY for you to enjoy at your convenience!
Stay tuned and as always KEEP READING!

BATTLE OF THE BOOKS

Please come out and support your 5th Grade Battle of the Books Book Club Team on Friday, April 4th (location TBA but most likely at Howard High School) at 7pm.

Our very own TEAM OF 5th GRADERS will be competing with other 5th grade teams from other Howard County schools to test their knowledge of this year's books.

They have been meeting weekly in the media center to prepare for the competition.

Show your support by cheering them on!
